Sunn91 is an operator driven independent fund with extensive global experience in technology.
We are a pre-seed and seed stage investment fund for startups in the technology space. Our approach is sector agnostic, and we typically prefer to co-invest in the round.
Having been founders ourselves, we are proudly able to call ourselves ‘operator-driven’ and truly mean it. Prior to forming Sunn91, our older investments were made individually, in a personal capacity. Currently, our agile process ensures that we make our investment decisions within just two calls with founders.
The real value of our involvement is by ‘clearing the fog’ - we provide our founders with a candid environment where they can be vulnerable as well as direct. We advocate founders to make their decisions independently, with us simply playing the role of catalyst. Our trust in each other makes it more than just capital, we’re all about growing together.

As a successful entrepreneur, Sarath loves to build and invest in technology and new age businesses that can address large and long-standing problems. He has worked closely with exceptional leaders and teams in this process. Sarath never misses an opportunity to interact and partner with talented founders at an early stage of their startup to help grow it into a large and sustainable business.
Sarath was earlier the co-founder of Sierra Atlantic. Inc., a global IP-driven IT services company (with a focus on product development and enterprise applications). The company has raised funds from multiple Venture Capital companies. Along with running operations in the USA and India, he has gained significant experience through his business engagements in Europe, Japan, Middle East, and South-East Asia. The company was acquired by Hitachi Vantara.
Sarath completed his B.E(Hons.) from BITS Pilani and M.Tech from IIT Kanpur.
Nihal Sura

Nihal oversees building networks with founders and VCs, facilitating cross-pollination (synergies) within our portfolio companies and streamlining communications between all stakeholders. He also plays a key role in the identification of investment opportunities.
Nihal has over 5 years of experience in the financial services industry - including Asset Management (Franklin Templeton, Miami) and Investment Banking (E&Y, Mumbai). Nihal is also an active angel investor with an expansive network.
Nihal completed his BS in Business Management from Babson College (Boston, USA) with a dual major in Finance and Economics.
